Pike fishing in spring
Spring is a good time to catch pike. Perhaps the catch of pike in the spring can be inferior only to its autumn catch. The most important thing is not to go wrong with the moment and not to get on its spawning, which in pike passes very early.
In a number of reservoirs, the pike can begin to spawn, even when the ice has not yet completely gone down, and the young pikes are already growing well by the time another fish begins to spawn and begin to hunt for its young themselves.
Not to be missed are the first impressions of spring fishing. At first it gives the impression that the pond is just full of fish, that it is only worth throwing the sparkle and the long-awaited trophy already in hand, but in fact everything is not as simple as it may seem at first glance.

It is best to start hunting the pike before it begins to spawn. During this period, she is particularly aggressive and well suited to bait. During spawning and for a few days after it, it becomes less active.
If you choose the right place and bait, then on a number of reservoirs, before the beginning of its spawning, trying to gain energy and strength, the pike can begin to catch, almost after each glitter throw.
At the beginning of March, you can boldly start going out on the pond and try, so to speak, to catch a pike. Even in February, if there are areas of the river or lake that are not covered with ice, you can already try to catch pike, since about this time it begins the pre-spawning fever.
For this period of time, it is characterized by the fact that the pike begins to catch all the baits in a row, not particularly understanding, including the cheapest baits for the pike. After the end of spawning, the pike already becomes more discernible with regard to baits.
After spawning, the pike rests only a few days, a maximum of a week. The small tick begins a little earlier than the large ones after spawning.
The spawning of this river predator can last for several weeks. This is due to the fact that each age group goes to spawn in its own time. Thanks to this feature, catching pike in the spring can be practically without interruption.
The best time to catch pike in spring is the morning and evening star. In the morning it is most active until 9 o’clock, and in the evening it can be caught almost until midnight.
